The Benefits of Amateur Photography pt 1: Bettie Page

I was unaware of Bettie Page until about 1990. Already by that time Bettie was being rediscovered and becoming a camp icon. 

Perceiving Bettie's work as camp was a misjudgement of what she was and what she did.

Bettie was a sexy model with a near perfect figure, a very pretty face, and a fun attitude to her work that added to the sexiness. Her work, like all glamour and pornographic modelling, was turning men on and inspiring them to have a wank or fuck someone. And at that she was one of the best ever.

It was clear from the "art" photos taken of Betty that she was happy to pose full-frontal with her pubic hair plainly visible, often darkened in the print to a thick black triangle. Many photos of this type were available by the early 1990s, along with a handful of semi-professonal bed shots with the plump outer lips of her twat visible through a none-too-thick pubic thatch.
